A Lot More Comfortable at Bowie Today

After struggling a lot over the last couple of weeks, today’s round brought back a little confidence in my game. It was also a little unusual that all three of us in the group shot exactly the same score of 82.

As is Bowie’s custom, we started on the back nine and the ball striking was decent but the putting continued to struggle, three-putting four times in the first five holes. After that I just putted with the intention of three-putting every hole and would be grateful for anything less. Strangely, no more three-putts after that.

First nine (back): Highlights: Two pars and five bogeys. Two one-putts and three two-putts. Six greens in regulation. Lowlights: Two double bogeys. One lost ball into the driving range off the tee on #18. Only one fairway in regulation. Shot a 45 on the first nine holes from the gold tees.

Second nine (front): Highlights: Six pars and three bogeys. No three-putts, four one-putts and five two-putts. Hit four fairways in regulation. No lost balls or penalty strokes. Shot a 37. Lowlights: Only hit three greens in regulation.

I don’t plan on shooting video at Bowie again until the new 9th hole opens up in its new configuration. Maybe I can also get in some shots of the new driving range. Construction seems to be taking longer than originally planned.

Here’s the scorecard.
