Feeling Much More Comfortable Today – Bowie Golf Club

While my score of 83 from the gold tees on the par 70 course is nothing to write home about, I felt my ball striking and putting were both much better today. The weather was mostly sunny with a mild to moderate breeze and unseasonably pleasant for a Maryland July with temps in the low 80s. My group consisted of Phil and Dale and Mac joined us on the back nine.

The front nine was not as pretty as the back, with only three pars, four bogeys and two double bogeys. I only hit one fairway and three greens in regulation so I was scrambling a bit to get to a 42 on the par 34 front.

The back started off much better, hitting the first three fairways and five of the first six greens – unfortunately I struggled after that. Going into the last hole, I had an opportunity to shoot 39 on the par 36 back if I could get a birdie on the 376 yard par 5. Sadly, I hit my driver into the driving range then followed it was a ball to 135 of the green. Hit my 8-iron onto the green just below the hole and two-putted for a bogey with the stroke and distance penalty and a 41 on the back.

Here’s the scorecard. Hope to see you out there on the course. Clayt

PS – The course/driving range is still under construction so the first hole still has a temporary tee box and the 9th a temporary green. Employee rumint is they should be reopened circa end of August or first of September.
